[:en]ATHENS, GREECE—Now in its sixth year, most of the refugees have fled the unrelenting war in Syria. Near the end of the refugee highway, the humanitarian crisis of refugees finds itself in Greece. Many have arrived from the island of Lesbos, while others are stranded at the Idomeni camp in north.

The situation remains difficult, yet there are continuing opportunities to meet the needs of refugees. According to the UNHCR, there were 156,574 arrivals by sea in 2016, adding to the already 856,723 arrivals by sea in 2015 alone. Incredibly, 90% of these arrivals come from the world’s top-10 refugee producing countries, where Syria continues to be the world leader. The following pictures are from a recent team serving in N. Greece with our in-country team.
