CGR Helps to Provide Training for Syrian Educators

SYRIA—Canadian Global Response helped provide a two-day workshop for our partner organizing, Better Life 4 Syrian Children. The event was called, “The Growth and Joy of Volunteering” and was interactive training with the volunteers sharing their experiences and feelings while learning essential tools in time management, communication, and planning. Apart from lunch for the 35 volunteers, the material covered the following topics and included fun teamwork activities:

  1. How to know children better while working with them, focusing on their psychological and developmental characteristics.
  2. Work within the team and its growth characteristics, time management and organization communication skills.
  3. Social and human characteristics of work dependent on environment and living location.

Our partners at Better Life focus on unanimous awareness and preventative health in addition to education of Syrian refugee children. Recreational activities, classroom time, sports, and technical training enable them to give hope to a generation of Syrian children that have largely been without education and growth opportunities.

Your generous contributions towards our Syrian child sponsorship program enable children to receive and our local partners to deliver educational programming towards food and education. Because schools are inaccessible in many areas due to the conflicts in the region, many children are unable to continue learning how to read and write.

To help Canadian Global Response partners working in this volatile area, please continue to share our updates across social media, and donate towards this cause. Further information about the refugees and humanitarian relief efforts in Syria and the surrounding areas will be made available as soon as possible.
